Located across North Abbott Creek - on the edge of a meadow, this is one of our most private cabins - a perfect place to call home. There are 7 cabins well-spaced on our 260 acre homestead - bring a larger group, we got you covered.
Other vacation highlights from this "home base” includes exploring the park next door known as the "Jewel Crown of the Continent”. Cabin time around here includes Glacier National Park time. First-time visitors will enjoy the Naturalist's Programs that include fireside talks, hikes and boat cruises where guests can learn the history of the glaciers, mountain peaks, climate zones and more. 700 mountain lakes, 37 glaciers. Fishing trips can be guided or on your own.
Sleeping arrangement: 2+ bedrooms with two queens and one double in a small room off the master, one bath and a fold out futon in the living room.
Your kids will love the swing-set, cows and horses. Dad’s, you can get out there and chop wood too! Quintonken has all the modern comforts of today (minus the technical distraction) combined with historic charm from another era makes this place very special. The house was named for a logging camp run by our father in the 1950s.
The cabin comes with a covered porch and special, private deck right on the creek. Quintonken is open year round so embrace the winter season too: Cross-country ski, snowshoe and snowmobile right from your front door. Skiing at nearby Big Mountain Ski resort is popular and so are the 200 miles of snowmobile trails that border the park. At the end of your day, a cozy fireplace is waiting to warm your spirits while you plan the next days adventure.
There is so much to do in the area and yet, you could easily stay "home" at the cabin and enjoy a day of relaxing, reading, and playing games with the family. The large lawn, flowers, open meadows and mountain views will enhance your experience. The bright, sunny breakfast room has a large window and is the perfect place for morning and noon meals
Explore like a local! Time away for the cabin might include hiking on the Going-to-the-Sun Road, maybe a day trip to Canada, horse-back riding, or white-water rafting. You might even see a wild grizzly. The Going-to-Sun Road was completed in 1932 and bisects the park east and west. The trip east is See large glacial lake, cedar forests in the lower valleys and windswept alpine tundras.
