This roomy cabin with three bedrooms and two baths has a large living room with knotty pine interior that opens up into a spacious kitchen. Millhouse is a wonderful "base camp" from which to explore spectacular Glacier Park and the Flathead Valley. Close to the deck off the kitchen is a rustic "Pavilion" for outside BBQing in case of rain, but mostly it's for getting together and just having fun.
Abbott Valley is named after a trapper, Abbott - who had a homestead claim in this area during the late 1890’s. Our present day historical cabins date back to 1910. Our Abbott Valley Homestead has 7 well-spaced cabins for rent. If you have a larger group, you can choose one or two cabins or rent the entire place which many guests do for a family reunion.
Sleeping arrangement: The main floor has two smaller bedrooms with queen size beds. Upstairs consists of a large master bedroom with a king size bed and a private bath.
Millhouse is located on our 260 private acres of meadow, foothills, winding creeks and roads that lead to Glacier National Park. In fact, North Abbott Creek (a fast and cold mountain stream) flows within earshot of the Millhouse cabin. Check out the network of beaver ponds in the woods south of the cabin.
After your Park adventure, cleanup is easy in the bath and laundry area just off the kitchen. You’re going to be amazed at all the updates and details we put into this “Montana home".
Millhouse Cabin is named in honor of our father's lumbermill which operated here from 1946 to 1964. Our family continues to farm these acres, so if you see us working the homestead, say hello - we are always willingly extend our local knowledge to our guests.
How’s this for a Montana vacation bucket list? fishing, hiking, cycling, swimming, photography, art galleries, summer theater, skiing, snowmobiling, tennis, golf, horseback riding, boating, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, river rafting, bird watching, wildlife viewing.
Flathead Lake, Big Mountain Ski and Summer Resort are nearby, and so are 9 golf courses, and Glacier National Park! Start your day with breakfast at the Base Camp Cafe in Columbia Falls. Drive along the scenic North Fork Road on the edge of Glacier National Park. This West side of Glacier trip should include a hike to Bowman Lake - amazing views and great paddling at Kinta Lake too. The Going-to-the-Sun Road bisects the park east and west - you will see almost every type of terrain in the Park.
If you have time, visit Bob Marshal Wilderness; the Salish/Kootenai Indian Reservation and Cultural Center; Museum of the Plains Indians in Browning; and the National Bison Range. We look forward to seeing you at the Homestead.

We came from Florida with our two dogs, Grizzly and Rocky, to enjoy the beautiful country setting and atmosphere. Glacier was great, but the best part was coming back "home" every day after day trips. The quiet was overwhelming, the air clean and fragrant, the house spacious, the flower beautiful,… but I ramble. Thanks for the memories. The Nienow's
Seldom does a vacation house turn out to be all that you expect-but the Millhouse felt like "home" the minute we walked in last week. Your ranch and the beauty & peacefulness here were even better than we hoped! Our boys think this is the best vacation ever and none of us want to leave. Thanks for providing a place for me to show my city kids how much fun life in the country truly is….. We will miss your place and hope to return again. The Spurgin Family
We have had a wonderful Autumn weekend. The Millhouse was perfect for our family. A great place for Nanna and Poppa to take their grand-kids on a walk in the woods. The Millhouse is very comfortable and we all felt immediately at home. Thank you for your fine hospitality. The Brennans
