You’ll love waking up to the views from our Mickey’s log home! Grab a cup of coffee and gaze out over a large meadow on South Abbott Creek from two covered porches. The deck faces South - keep an eye out for elk, deer, moose and an occasional mountain lion. The valley is crossed by North and South Abbott Creeks. South Abbott is slow moving and quietly meanders through the picturesque meadows.
There are 7 cabins for rent in the on the Abbott Valley Homestead. All offer privacy and a unique Montana vacation experience. If you have a larger group, we’ll put a roof over everyones head.
Sleeping arrangement: The upstairs has been divided into two bedrooms, both with a queen size bed. The living room couch can also be used.
Mickey’s is a hand hewn log home with an open main floor plan. Right in the middle of the cabin is an original wood stove.
Our Abbott Valley Homestead is steeped in history and lore. The homestead is named after a trapper named Abbott who laid claim to this area during the late 1890’s. Our cabins have a storied past that date back to 1910. Mickey’s well-kept and clean cabin is on the homestead that our family continues to work on. We are full of local knowledge and are always happy to answer questions. Get tips on where to go kayaking, rafting, horseback riding, fishing, white water rafting, hiking.
Welcome to our 260 acre Abbott Valley Homestead nestled near the base of Desert Mountain! From your cabin door you can hike, bike, bird watch and more. Looking for a warm beach during summer? Lion Lake is popular with the locals - two miles away or turn right on the South Fork Road and head to nearby Hungry Horse Reservoir.
Bring your camera. The #1 attraction that brings visitors here is Glacier National Park, “The Crown Jewel of the Continent”. Want to see some jaw-dropping mountain peaks, waterfalls, rushing streams and glaciers -UP CLOSE? The Westside entrance, North Fork Road on the edge of Glacier National Park, is just down the road. There are 2 ways to explore the Going-to-the-Sun Road; travel by car, or in a uniquely narrated "jammer" red bus tour. A third way to ’travel' is by whitewater rafting! Kathy Aurich Kramer Beautiful quiet place. Loved it. Should have stayed the whole week there!! Walked on the trails and saw Mule deer. I would highly recommend Abbott Valley!! Thanks Doyle.
Nancy Stobel Excellent winter getaway! Peaceful and relaxing by a cozy fire or great exercise snowshoeing through the meadow. The rustic charm of the cabins takes you back to a simpler time and place and reminds you of the joy of simple conversation. The collected stories of the early day homesteaders of the canyon area are a delight. Shake the winter blahs and spend some time in the sunshine of Abbott Valley Homestead.
